Ricoh IM7000 Finisher SR4150 Jam

Hello everyone,

I have the following problem with a Ricoh IM7000 with an SR4150.
I only get a paper jam sporadically (J171) when double-sided and hole punching are selected at the same time.
The paper then simply remains unpunched behind the hole punch unit!
Hole punching for single-sided documents and only duplex copies work perfectly.
As soon as both are selected, I get a paper jam at J171.
I have replaced the following, but unfortunately without success:

FW is of course new from the machine and the finisher, other paper has already been tried.
I don't know if I'm in the right place here, I'm a Ricoh technician myself and Japan hasn't found a solution yet either!

i think you need to download the service manual. it gives the fix for the problem you are having. rev 5/1/24

I'm a Ricoh technician for over 20 years and we have all the service manuals ready! But in this case the service manual is no help and as I said, you can see from my list what has been replaced, that is more than what the service manual suggests and what has it achieved? Nothing!

Taken from IM7000 Service Manual:

Cause -- JAM171 occurs because the bracket connecting the finisher to the main machine was displaced to the
side-to-side registration during SR4150/SR4160 installation.

Solution -- Adjust the connecting bracket between the main unit and SR4150/SR4160.
For the adjustment procedure, refer to Skew and Side-to-Side Registration

revision 5/1/24 is the latest updated copy of the service manual. and it addresses the exact problem that you are having.
