    MP C407 Toner question

I see ads for toner that says it fits c306/c406/c307/and c407
but i see that the c407 will only fit the c407 is the c406 toner going to work in the c407?
because i have the opp to buy some c406 toners at a great price, but not if they dont work in the c307/c407
    thanks

The powder is the same for the mpc30,mpc306,mpc407 and i think the mpc401..
Sometimes they add a tab or cutout.
sometimes they use a different chip, cheap to buy and swap if needed

I checked Precision Roller's, one of the very few compatible providers I would trust and their C406 toners can only be used in the C406 and C306.

This thread made my head hurt when I started looking into things .
I only have a single C307 in the field currently, and no C407's so it hasn't affected me, but as far as I can tell, and when I go to the order page on Ricoh, the toner for MP C306/307/ 406/ 407 is all Type C406
            (P/N's 842091 / 092/ 093/ 094)
            2021-07-29.jpg

However, when I type in the P/N's found on precision roller for the C407 specific toner (842207/ 208/ 209/ 210), while they do show up and seem to be valid numbers, I'm unable to order or see pricing, so I'm still confused about that.

the toner i use is strictly OEM and i have a supplier that has a bunch of 406,,, i didnt want to get it only to have it not work in the 407
perhaps a chip switch, but is it the same? the 407 rates at 8k while the 406 rates at 6k yields

I play around with refilling toners and if it fits and is not detected then it is a difference of swapping out the toner chip.
mpc305 toner is the same powder as the latter models..
