Ricoh MP3054 that big home button when press not working

Hi, how do i configure the Big home button for copier MP3054. Bec when i pressed it, it beeps and it doesnt goes back to home.

Are you sure that you are not already on what is configured as the Home screen?

well i am sure. I want the home screen big button when pressed, it should goes back to show all the available functions button like copy,scan,document server and print. so when i either press copy, scan or print then when i press the home screen. It just beeped and it doesnt goes back to the main menu. i have tried to find out if i could set the home screen to goes back to the main menu. but I cant seems to be able to find the configuration button. could you assist me?

I did not understand? have all the icons disappeared?....if so, someone pressed reset home screen, and you have to re set the icons from the menu

In Short, I think the home big button has not being configured, when i press that button. because nothing happens when it has been pressed. when i press copy, print or scan functions and want to go back to home screen by pressing the big home button, it doesnt respond

Maybe the button switch its broken, you can disassembly Easy the operation panel, and test the button with a multimeter, there Is a service menu for test some function of operation panel, but now dont remember the exact sequence key, i havent a manual at home...the plastic on top of the button show heavy worn surface? On touch pression the button do good click?

yup it does click and the copier does make a beep. but it just doesnt show home screen when pressed.

ok, now im in lab, and i have access to manual.

try this:

go in copier mode, digit "[yellow]+1993+[C] five time, this permit to access to panel menu
select [hard key test]
press home button, and look if the home key square change colour, if no, the switch button its broken
instead if the square key change colour, try to upgrade the firmware, in particulay the "op_panel." file
