MP4055 frozen on Please wait... screen

Hi All.
As the title says the machine is currently stuck on the white screen that says "Loading....Please wait".
(No matter how I try to upload / attach the screenshot, the site tells me it's corrupt)
I am pretty sure I created this issue as I was looking over a machine to buy at my wholesaler's.
The machine has or had Equitrac Installed ad it initial boot it came it cam to a screen the said "server not found" or something along those lines. I could get it to the home screen where it asked for a login to make any changes in UT, which I wanted to get to so that I could go about trying to remove it.
I'm not positive about the exact order of my next steps, but I did go into extended features and remove/ uninstalled everything that was there. I always do this, because I only sell and support machines with the basic print / scan functionality, and I also went into SP mode and disabled Java.
I think this is where my problem ma have come from.
The reboot afterwards, it did pop up an SC863 code, and I was still able to access SP mode user the micro switch/ Check status method because I could not access the home screen this time. I formatted the HDD, and rebooted, and that's when it got worse.
It now only boots to the screen mentioned above, and the Check status button is no longer visible in order to access SP mode - Unless there is an additional way that I'm unaware of and someone might PM me with that process (??).
I also tried without HDD, and even another HDD. It did acknowledge the new drive and prompted me to format, and it did it successfully, but then returned to the same status.

I would be very appreciative of any advice that might help me bring this thing back to life; otherwise, it me become an expensive parts machine for me

Can you bring up the keypad pressing exe button 3 then tapping the bottom left of the screen? If so try entering SP mode.

I would also try updating the firmware.

I would bring another smart-panel with me, it's quick to replace, it's happened to me that it breaks down, and bring 2 SD cards, one with the panel's firmware, and the other with those of the machine, preferably not the package but the system-copy, also try to check the CPU status LEDs on the controller board, and compare them with those in the service manual, you might understand what's wrong, also try disconnecting and reconnecting the controller and ipu, maybe it will start again....could be easily the controller board, that its gone...if have patient, leave the machine in "please wait" for a very long time, could be appear a sc672 after a lot of time.

Thanks. I did try that even though the check status icon isn't present, but no luck.
I'm going back today and will try firmware.

I did plan on trying firmware as my sort of last resort and thankfully it did solve the problem!
Almost all of the modules were outdated and the scanner was a custom firmware so I can't be sure which one resolved it but it's all good and I'm very relieved.

Firmware will fix all faults ! 😀
