[Error Code] Permanent error 672 on ricoh mp301

Hy engineers, kindly could anyone lead to error sc 672 fixing or sorting. Tried all possible causes including RAM, FAX, AND DIMM. What could be other issue rather than controller unit and operation panel?

Why do you only want possible causes OTHER than CTL board? That IS the most likely cause at this point

Does the machine have the optional hard drive? If it does, try unplugging it. Does it have a Java card? Remove it.

Check fuse #6 on the power board.

Have you tried looking in the service manual? Most likely cause is a loose connection between the controller and the front panel.

Slim and Anothertech have it right.

These are notorious for having HDD issues stalling the controller, causing it to throw a SC672. I have also seen bad panels and in particular, bad connection/cable from the op panel to the back of the machine.

Rule of thumb on troubleshooting SC672 codes is to first do the HDD. If that doesn't work, then remove accessories like fax, java, etc. Anything that you can to make sure something is not hanging up, causing the controller to stall.

I have had bad panels, but it is rare and it is far more likely that it is the HDD or something else.

Had a few power supplies cause this issue. Number one cause is the controller and second is the PS.

Yes, fuse 6 on the power supply blows, it can be fixed, you just have to solder on a jumper Pico fuse.

Had this a few times on the 301 try updating the firmware, if t still throws the SC672 then it is the controller.

However before you order one remove & refit the CTL board I had one that was just a loose connection.
