complete swap of mpc3501 pcdu into a mpc3502

    so
I have a bunch of low meter mpc3501 PCDU that i pulled out from tradeins over the
years ,wrapped them in lot of paper and store them in a dark place.
I needed to swap out 4 drums on a mpc3502 and clipped the metal piece near the rear and
inserted drum to get the drum error message.
I decided to pull the td sensor and harness and swap it too.
That was the ticket and now machines runs well.
So the 01 dev units will work on the 02 series and the printer series too.

This has been known for years.

The xx01 PCU are cheaper than the xx02 so we have all been modifying & fitting these.

Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

You could try swapping 2 leads on the connector from the development unit to the drum unit. See attached

Yeah, that's the way I've always done it, very easy.

                thanks.
i did not sell many 02s so i might see one every year or so.
And 01s are pretty much finished with maybe 304 still running.
I remember seeing the wire trick but thought that was for changing K drums to color.
Its been a while but thanks to all.

Yes, now that you said that, I remember that I was doing the wire swap to change black drum to color drum.
