    MP 4054 "Please Wait"

Hello People, I have this P. I. T. A. !! 4054 Has an issue with a "please wait" not going away... I tried new H.D.,s and sent out Control Board to Hytec for repair too... They replaced NVRam, and sent it back... Guess what?????? PLEASE WAIT !!! Oh ...Not you! It still says it... Any suggestions??? Also put another Fuser unit in... Any help would be appreciated, Laser801..... Let me add, I have 2 machines doing the same thing and both were affected by a power outage due to a storm.

    Hi

Have you tried other ram modules?

Also if it has a fax board on remove it

Get it as close to basic as possible for testing.

Have you tried booting it without the hdd?

          Could be the BICU.

If you know the controller is good (Hytec "tested/repaired", and the HDD didn't solve it, and removing the fax module didn't work, then you can bet that it's either the IPU or the BICU.
As stated above, it could also be a Memory DIMM, but I'm leaning towards one of the other boards I mentioned.

Hate power outages/ surges. Had storms a couple weeks ago that wreaked all kinds of Havoc on some of our Ricoh machines, but came across two different HP's that got a surge, and melted the fuser rollers together, direct hit to the Power Supply! Even melted the Power strip that the printer was plugged in to!

Have you tried accessing WIM to see if there is a service code?

Thanks for your Reply... We have already put other units in their place... I have a gut feeling its the BICU ... Getting a high mileage low cost unit in early next week , which we'll have to work with. Those repairs on the control boards were almost a G ... I can get this other unit in for less than 5 Hun... Thanks again, Enjoy the weekend
