I retired before the 54s came out but in the past, more often then not high pitch noises in a waste toner box are caused by a transport coil rubbing on the sides of the transport tube. It is more likely to happen with new waste boxes that have not yet gotten enough waste toner in the tube to act as a lubricant. Maybe you can prime the transport tube.

I doubt you'd get a high pitch squeak from a WTB its all plastic.

Remove the box & cheat the sensor do you still get the squeak?

Run output checks in SP mode to narrow down the area of the sound.

We've also had new Waste Toner bottles Squeak and Grind on this series. You wouldn't think it would squeak with it being all plastic, but it does.
You can take the seals off the front and back, pull the clips for the auger, and push it one way or the other so it protrudes from the box. Normally have to take a flat-head screw driver or knife blade and lightly scrape the shaft (sometimes a scotch brite scratch pad works). The shaft gets a slight buildup of either toner or something else, and it will rub in the auger shaft bushing and cause the noise.
We got tired of throwing away new bottles, and found that work around.

              Good to know.

I guess once they start to fill with waste the squeak stops ?

Had an MP5055 (same design) with a squeak today. Meter had just under 140K. The waste toner bottle was relatively empty. The noise seemed to be coming from the rear of the bottle. I cleaned and lightly greased the plastic bushings on the front and back. The noise went away afterward.

good idea, it hasn't happened to me yet, but if it happens, I'll keep it in mind
