    MPC307

    Hi
This machine has no jams but the image is sometimes out of order, start and head position varies, sometimes an inch !
Proberly this has to do with the registration clutch ? (hell of a job to replace it, regarding to the manual)

Rarely see this on the MPC307
    Anyone experienced this ?

    Thanks in advance

Yes, paper feed registration issues are usually the reg clutch.

Try some IPA / alcohol spray this can help (can be done without removing the clutch)

Also check / lubricate the registration roller bushings.

One question, copying from the platen glass or the ADF?

yes, clutch registration, I've had two mpc307s with this problem, it's a mess to disassemble!..try to do as copiertech suggested...it could work, next time I'll try it too, I think that as on other models it could be due to excessive grease on the bushings put in the factory that slowly infiltrates the clutch.
you will need a can with a very long tube to be able to reach it since the clutch is well hidden

Personally I would avoid using alcohol spray as it might tend to dry out some rollers and cause their surface to crack. See if you can get electrical contact cleaning spray or degreaser spray. It is the sintered bronze bushing that is sweating out oil.

Check your PTR mylar just before the roller and the discharge fins after the roller. most often i find the mylar eventually gets worn causing registration issues. also the fins get bent up into the paper path. you can usually hear the paper scraping as it is fed through if this is the case.
