could i make ricoh not to print print jobs that comes from the wrong printing driver? for instances if client recently use HP copier and they have replaced with new ricoh copier, but using the same IP. as some staff might not know about the printer driver reinstallation is still in progress. so instead they print it using their HP copier which caused the ricoh copier to keep printing nonstop

You could change the IP of the Ricoh and then update the Ricoh drivers to point to the new IP.

You did not say what model Ricoh you were installing. Assuming you're installing a PCL-6 printer, most likely the HP either was not a LaserJet or was not using an HP/PCL driver.

A quick and dirty trick, would be to set User Authentication codes.

Create a simple pin and set it as authorised to use B&W and colour printing, and set the copier to restrict all printing usage.

Only then will the driver with the correct pin can print, all others will be ignored. Once the setup is complete, remove the User Authentication to allow all usage, you do not need to remove the pin in the driver.

I think the simple answer is that the No I do not suggest using the old HP driver. The Ricoh will pop up with errors and/or print gibberish.

I would suggest using the above suggestions from other techs as temporary fixes.

Configure Ricoh to accept only specific drivers in print settings.
