How did you "try"? Using SP mode only works when you do not have any apps enabled.

If you have3 any apps enabled you have to do the following first:
        1. Enter User Tools from the control panel
        2. If an app is set as the default function you need to change that first and may need to reboot
        3. Once you can get into Extended Features in User Tools you need to close and then remove all apps. Follow the onscreen directions. If the app was originally installed from a SD card you will need that card to remove.

If you have uninstalled any software from extended features try setting SP5730 (disable JAVA at start up) & format the HDD

Yes SP5730 from 1 to 0. I do it on every machine I see that's not using Java apps.

This....and also there's no indication that you've done as Tim suggested, and make sure that there is a default boot option selected in the screen features like "Home" or "Copier", for example.
I've come across several machines in the past that have somehow had the preferred boot function de-selected and the result was like yours - maybe 5 - 6 minutes to arrive at the home / copy screen

I've done the above mentioned including HDD format, I swapped HDD, still not booting to home screen immediately. Just please wait for ages.

                      Switch off SP5113-002.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                      Hit it.

I found the solution, USER TOOLS >>SYSTEM SETTINGS >>FUNCTION PRIORITY>>HOME.
Function priority wasn't set to home.

I probably didn't read through because so many suggestions where coming in. Pardon me if I didn't appreciate anyone who had variously contributed to the success, am indeed grateful for all. Thank you
