MPC407 sending junk over 50 pages

I have a mp c407 sending jumbled files after 50 pages, under 50 pages its fine, a pdf, no problem,
In batch it does the same thing , can i get any suggestions? My web service provider has no limits and if it did it would bounce back

If by sending you mean scan to email, try scanning to folder. Check the size of the scanned file. My guess is that it will be larger than the maximum size set for scan to email file and divide and send is enabled. Divide and send only work properly when sending to a Microsoft office through a Microsoft server. Otherwise the you get garbage as you describe. In the early days of the internet most email providers allowed a maximum attachment size of 2.5MB and most MFP used to default to that setting and many still do. Most email providers now allow a maximum size of 10MB with some as large as 25MB. If you need to send something larger, like a service manual, it needs to be done as a link to a cloud service such as Google Drive, gmail does it for you automatically based on attachment size.

Looks like you have posted this question twice.

This is a common issue & usually a quick fix.

If this is a gmail scanning issue check file size is set to MAX/OFF & update the firmware.

Set Max Email size to off in scanner features / Send settings.
Default is set to 2046Kb on all machines, which is obviously 'stoopid'.
It's one of the steps in my pre-delivery to disable it.

If the email provider has a low limit, emails that are too large will be dropped, often without notifying you. I had a customer who was a large RV dealership. When they first got internet they tried email their weekly ad sheet to the local newspaper, they used to drive them by. The newspaper was not getting them. I did some checking and the ad sheets were about 2.7MB and the SMTP server they were using only allowed 2MB. And this was before scan to email was available, they were sending from their computer using Outlook.And therein was the reason for Ricoh setting their Max Email size to 2048 KB which is 2 MB. After that they just forgot about it as email providers started increasing their limit,first to 5MB then to 10MB with most now at 25MB. In house Microsoft Exchange can be set to no limit but not good for bandwidth on the internet.

I hear you wiseman and you're constantly pushing me ahead as your knowledge and experience are vastly appreciated. It just wondered me in this case how old fashioned may be R&D Ricoh engineering team but from my experience those great Japanese engineers are really hard hats.

Yes back in the day 2048KB was was enough however most providers support 10MB & gmail now 20MB which is sufficient for 50+ colour pages @ 300dpi.

The later Ricoh models have excellent PDF compression settings I have started changing this on every install to 'higher compression' clients can now scan 100's of pages into one PDF if required.

But the only reason I know much of anything is from spending so much time over the years absorbing information from the professors at CTN university .
I'm generally just regurgitating things I've learned from others or out in the world of trial and failure

Yes but I actually like what Sandy and other Ricoh techy do on behalf of engineering team. Maybe in KM we are more spoiled in that aspect which really surprised me.
