    Mpc 3003 no scan

    Hi good day
In a company they have called us because the machine stopped sending the scanners to the post office.
the client wants it to be per folder now.

When doing the respective procedure, the machine does not send them either. Appears: Waiting
i updated firmware as first measure, but nothing

The machine prints fine, there is a correct ping, it looks fine on the web, but when the machine ping the computer that sends the prints correctly, the machine displays the error message on the panel.

    restart the IEEE802, nothing

I appreciate your suggestions thank you

LAN connection? I think it will be necessary to first resolve the errors indicated including the firmware, try to delete print queues, pending data, disable wifi. Folder settings are different from email.

After you updated the firmware did you check that SMB v2.0 was enabled ?

        Hello thanks for answering

Now the problem is even stranger, because another company machine, an MP 305 that is per smb folder on 2 computers, ftp on 3 and 11 per mail, stopped working at the same time.

The machines, both the mpc 3003 and mp 305, worked well in both mail, ftp and smb.

I did everything you described to me, and nothing I brought my laptop, I use it to always discard and neither .. it prints well but the scans do not arrive appears waiting ... until it says impossible connection with destination.

Strange that two machines are presenting the same problem, at the same time.

systems engineers say there was no Windows update.

tomorrow I will go and update the firmware noboor package but by romdata one by one have what happens I appreciate any tip.

        thank you

When you are there, check to see if the site certificate has expired. That could cause it to error when sending scan to email.

                Hello, good afternoon

The problem was that the new engineer, when installing a new antivirus console, disabled this and that, among those, the printer output ports and how they had thrown it on December 31, because the company was in trouble.

they had to call the previous engineer who is now freelance to fix all this mess

Thank you very much for your entire collaboration.

                Cheers

I have seen it in the past. New virus protection software. The computer user goes to the MFP to scan something, returns to computer and sees a message from the new software and without reading the entire message clicks on the "block activity button" I have even seen McAfee shutdown IP printing.

Third-party antivirus applications can't go away fast enough for me. It's 2022: workstations have built-in firewalls that are quite effective, and (with Windows) a built-in AV that doesn't need to throw hooks into the kernel or re-write portions of the OS, or just break the functionality of Windows.

As always quite profound and professional. I don't remember last time I had 3rd party antivirus program on my PCs.

What I hate are "protection suites." As you say, Windows firewall just cannot be beaten. I have however seen Windows virus protection fail far too often. It is good for known viruses but still does not do a good job of recognizing anything new.

It all depends on the definitions: I've even seen admins setup third-party AV to only download and install updates once a day, which doesn't do much as that still leaves at least another day before most systems get the latest definition set. I always have any antivirus (using Windows Defender on my systems) to download definition updates every hour.

Defender doesn't have the strongest heuristics, but as a part of defence in depth it's a better tool than other suites or third-party clients. Just by removing admin rights for regular users, having robust mail malware scanning (hosted email people, hosted email...), and robust patching you can generally keep issues at bay.
