[Jamming] Help! J003 Jam code but no actual jam

I have a Ricoh Pro C5100s, it thinks there is a paper jam J003 tray 1, but there is no jam. the machine does not even try to pick up paper. This is the same on any tray selected. No error codes.
My authorized technician can't find the problem. He tried replacing the driver board to the drive motors and replaced the wiring harness with no fix.
    Anyone have an idea?

After you check for a jam does the J003 go away until you try to make another feed or does it just stay ON? If the code never clears you may have a bad door switch. If the machine never sees the door associated with the jam opened then closed it will continue to display the same jam code.

After checking for paper jam and closing the door it clears and shows that it is ready to print. I hit print and it goes back into J003

Does the top sheet of paper have an indentation at the center that is about the width of the reverse roller? That usually indicates a worn roller. Either the reverse roller, the feed roller or both. If you inspect them their surfaces will appear shiny and not textured like new rollers are. The 1M rollers will very seldom last more than 800K. Replace all three rollers as a set.

The rollers are new. there is never an attempt to pull a piece of paper out from any of the trays The drive motors for driving the rollers aren't activating at all.

Check the 24 volt power supply inputs to the driver board. A blown fuse can cause the problem.

if the rollers are new, it seems that some one-way bearings on the paper feed station are messed up, tell your technician to remove the station, put it on a table, remove all the one-way bearings/clutches, wash them with alcohol several times and blow them with compressed air, also give a light sanding with light abrasive paper on the shaft where the bearings work, if it works you can order new parts, check that there are no developer drops from the worn bushings of some development group, you see it on the bottom of the machine

That sounds promising... can you guide me to the page # or section of the service manual so I can find the fuse in question? Or the test points to check for 24v?

Thanks, but This has nothing to do with one way bearings

Your technician should be doing this.

Yes, but he couldn't find the problem so it's my turn.

what is the current power situation? is the copier on a surge protector? lord i hope it's not a walmart cheapo. are there other power hogs in the room? heaters? A/C? something that could draw more power that might cause a fuse to blow?
