Ricoh IM C3000 Newbie in the Boonies = Self-Repair SC362-01

I watched a video on taking apart the DU and unplugging the circuit card and plugging it back in. Then I put it back together and the black is still not printing. I get the SC362-01 error.

I suppose I need to buy a part, but I don't want to buy the wrong part. I believe it is the Development Unit. I also worry that I won't put it together correctly when it comes. I don't have a copier vacuum. Your advice is very much appreciated.

Note the red arrow. If that connector is disconnected or either of the wire harnesses are damaged you will get that error. Always always always recheck it after putting the PCDU back in the machine. A defective TDS will also cause the problem. In the future have the service manual available instead of YouTube crap.

I had the help of the service manual in taking it apart. But, it is not easy to understand what exactly is going on. How do you recheck it after putting the PCDU back in the machine?

ok, I'd start with the simplest things. 362-01 indicates low toner level k, so it's true
          1a.jpg 2a.jpg 3a.jpg
1- check the toner inlet nozzle in the black toner development unit, visually the level should not be too low, which would indicate a toner supply problem coming from above, compare the level with the other units
2- try swapping the wiring and the sensor connector with that of another unit, it could be some bent pins, or the cable broken internally, I saw that the wiring is very constricted with very tight cable ties

3- try swapping the sensor with that of another unit, (they are attached with double-sided tape) and see if the code changes

Thanks for your help. I initialized the k TD sensor, but it failed. In the manual, I cannot find what to do if initialization fails.
              SP 3031 reads 1113.

Now, I am also getting error SP360-01.

Those codes basically indicate the same thing.
Can you please inform us as to whether the machine was previously working, and then this error occurred out of the blue, or if you inherited it in this condition and decided to try and fix it?

I purchased from a very large company that had been building a new building to move into. In the process, they had closed a small office and moved all the equipment into storage. There it sat, wrapped in plastic wrap, for a year and a half. They were not going to use it again, so they put it up for sale and I bought it. It was being sold by the construction manager, who did not have an investment in the machine, and just had an assignment to get rid of it. It was listed for $600, I walked away with it for $400. I had no opportunity to test it, or even unwrap it.

In System Settings - Administrator Tools find Network Security Level. You will need to be logged in as the Network Administrator which may or may not be the same as the Machine Administrator in order to change the setting. Any changes made anywhere in system settings at a higher setting than the current will be able to be changed and sometimes cannot be seen. Governments and large corporations often set high security levels and make other changes necessary to meet their security needs. When they take a machine out of service they will only return the level to original default but not clear any other settings.

In Administrator Tools the Service Mode Lock is OFF. I don't see any other settings.

If that is the only thing you can see in Administrator Tools you either have a major problem or you're not logged in as an Administrator. There should be close to 100 or more individual listings.

I found an "Administrator Tools" section in the main screen under Settings/Machine Features Settings/System Settings/. Is that where I am supposed to see all those listings?
My husband set up the login information on a web browser. He said he couldn't find a place for that information to be put in on the machine.

With that information, I'd say it was not working when it got wrapped in plastic, and likely had a more serious issue that they opted not to fix.
Bottom line is that if it was a known working machine to start , troubleshooting steps have a direction.
Since it was not, and you are not an experienced tech, it's a crap shoot.
Without having access to known working parts to swap around, it's VERY difficult to suggest much more than already has been.
I personally feel that you may have a bad BICU board (I hope I'm wrong).
