Hey guys need some help here i have a Ricoh mpc 3503 the machine is at hotel, 4 months ago they had a small water leak from the roof and fell to the adf and went to the scanner i went there and replace the scanner lamp and the lamp regulator caused the machine was giving me SC101 and everything was fine the machine was working fine, Back now he called me to tell me that as soon he is pressing the scanner button the machine cancels it and goes back to home, screen same is happening to the document server, but the copier is working fine also the printer. So far i told him from the phone to do a HDD format all,and made all the firmware updates but nothing works. The client is 100Km away any idea?

Once a machine has had water in it we consider it totaled and let their insurance deal with it or sell them another machine. There is no telling what could be wrong or what could go wrong next due to corrosion. A 3503 is ancient at this point. I wouldn't be throwing a bunch of money at it. -
I agree with what Mako says, but if you want to try, it's not said that all is lost, I would bring a complete operator panel, probably the water penetrated inside and created a bit of a mess

I think you should open the cover nearby the platen sensor. I got case similar like this were got water leaking from above. Was fine after changing ADF, but after a month or two, got weird SC error appear. Turn out, sensor at platen was corrode.Comment
