    Savin IM C3500

The copier suddenly stopped being able to print, all print jobs end with a timeout after it stays on processing for too long, also on a side note when this happens we lose access to the WebUI and a restart is required. There are no SC codes listed in service mode, however, I was able to find a software error in history with code: 990-00*, specifically targeting file: ENG: plotter. The error shows it occurred the night before everything stopped functioning. If anyone has ran across this or have a suggestion as to how to proceed, I would be forever grateful.

A few reasons for this issue.

First check your drivers are not set on a WSD port.
Updating the firmware can also help.
Possibly a failing HDD can cause this issue.

Drivers are not an issue in this case, as it can not even print system generated pages like counter. I tried to use the Ricoh Update Tool but it says its up to date so it does not proceed. We are planning to pull the HDD tomorrow but I feel like its a firmware issue and needs to be reinstalled but finding the files needed is being problematic.

All that means is that all modules are at the current level. The update tool has no ability to identify corrupted firmware. SD card firmware and selecting every module is the best way to correct corrupt firmware. You can also do it through WIM but but you may have to reboot after certain modules. System/Copy and Engine are the most likely to cause the problem.

SC990 could also be bad memory, either DIMM or NVram. HDD is least likely as I don't think it comes into use for internal prints like the Counter Page.

When you used the Update Tool it should have downloaded a file from Ricoh. If you still have that file the module files needed for WIM can be extracted from it. Since the over night error message says ENG: plotter, start with the Engine module.

1 - try with laptop and cross cable
2 - try to change the switch port
3 - try to reboot the switch
4 - try a firmware update with sd card
4 - try to disconnect the hdd
                  5 - could be the bad nv-ram
