    PRO1357 light prints

    Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has had an issue like this, I did find an old post but it did not help.

This machine is printing very light even though drum and dev PM's have been done, here is what I have tried so far

    1. new drum and developer
    2. new charge and pre charge
    3. toner end sensor replaced
    4. dev unit replaced from a working machine
    5. ID sensor replaced
    6. set machine to add toner more frequently
    7. new toner supply pump replaced
    8. toner suction pump replaced
    9. every single toner pipe has been cleaned out including the container that fills with toner, toner bank setup has been done and the machine is transporting the toner fine.

I ran about 15k prints and it started again, the VSP and VSG look normal even if the prints are light, I have also checked that they are not stuck on one value, they do vary like normal.

    Any ideas?

Did you check toner supply motor, its stepper motor and it will work from diagnostic when rotates for couple seconds, but when it supplies toner it rotates for 1/4 of circle and failes.

How do i check this motor.
Remove flywheel and fan from behing. You will be able to see motor and check how it works. Run 100 copies and it has to turn half circle, every 2 copies and sometimes full circle. Sorry if I cant explain better, but you got the point.
If you test it in diagnostic it will work perfectly.

The toner supply motor was the first thing I changed, we have like 5 of these machines on the field but this is the only one that does this

in your first post you wrote "Toner supply PUMP", but i mean the toner supply motor at the rear of the machine, behind the flywheel.

This may be a long shot, but I had similar several years ago. It turned out that the weld in the toner auger coil in the recycling toner area had broken. It drove me crazy until I discovered that. There is an sp code also to turn off the recycled toner only using fresh toner, might be a good test to try.

By toner supply motor , I believe that they are talking about the motor that drives the toner dispensing shaft in the toner hopper on top of the development unit. It is mounted on the same bracket as the development motor. Item 5, drive section1, B234 3055 Stepper Motor DC12.6V 12.6W. I have had it fail. Density will fade over a couple of hundred copies.
