    Ok everybody. I have read through this entire thread and not one of you have mentioned the proper SP mode for turning off the Charge Corona cleaner function. The correct SP mode is 2804 Charge Corona Cleaner Setting.
    -001 sets when when automatic corona wire cleaning is done.
    For the Martini:
    0 = Off
    1 = Procon
    2 = Set interval
    3 = Suspend
    I am not sure about the difference between Off and Suspend but one of them might also disable manual operation SP2803
    The Pro 1107 only has set interval
    0 = Off
    1 = On
    -002 Sets the interval

      mrwho stated that he was having problems with several different models including the MP7500 and you are correct in that the charge cleaner operation mode should be disabled for this model with SP 2-804-001 = "0".

      The Pro8100ex uses SP 2-221-001.

      I think I'm going to take a break from this discussion until mrwho weighs in with his comments.

        Thank you both. Yes, on the Pro8100 I set SP 2221-001 to NoExec, but still the machine would popup a SC308 in the morning.

        I'm still chasing that problem, after rebuilding the corona and replacing the cleaning motor - as the error is random, I need to wait and see to check if it worked.

        Ordered a full corona and home position sensor just in case.

          Wire cleaning takes place before process control so changing SP2-221-001 to "0" should prevent it from running.
          I'm curious to know why it doesn't work on multiple machine models.
          Yes, that's the sole reason I started this thread.

            There used to be a setting with some of the Martini models, SP 3804 Warm Up Short Mode. Unless it is set to 0, charge corona wire not cleaned when the machine is turned on, cleaning would be done at power on regardless of any other SP setting. I wonder if Ricoh in all their wisdom, or lack there of, may have moved that to Factory SP mode. Worth checking.

              So, if I'm understanding correctly, you're saying that "WarmUp Short Mode" would override the "NoExec" on the charge cleaning settings and clean it anyway?

                disconnect the motor connector

                  Only at power on if it has been more than 24 hours since it ran last.

                    Not easily doable on Pro machines like the Pro8100 - at least by the customer.

                      So if I disable charge cleaning and short mode, that should stop the cleaning?

                        i see that the sp's concerned are lot different between one model and another, leave the connector unplugged, on martini, and see if it solves the problem at zero cost, then see what to do

                          We have a long discussion about this corona wire cleaning problem, it's not even a common problem. I can't remember the last time I had with a corona wire cleaner. I've never seen it happen on Pro 8100. Been probably 5 years since I've seen it on MP 7502.

                              if you disconnected it (as I suggested 1 year ago), the code never comes back, you just have to clean the wire by hand when you happen to go to the customer, it takes 3 minutes anyway
