    [Dead] Dead Ricoh MPC2011

Hello, recently a Ricoh 2011 that was used by one of our clients died.
We checked the fuses and the PSU witch seems to be working fine, however when we turn the machine on the screen wont come on and the motors cant be heard moving. We dont know what else to check, any ideas?

does the blue button on keyboard panel, light up? to check if the power supply works, you must necessarily try another one that works for sure, to be a reliable proof

Yes, the button on the keyboard lights up. As of now, I can't check another power supply as I don't have one in the office.. I stopped selling ricoh a while ago unfortunately

If you use a strong lighter and lit on the LCD can you see something?

I know that this was a thing with the MPC2500/2800 when the polygon motor blew the BICU. MFP seemed dead with no 24 volt activity (fans/motors) but the LCD actually displayed something without background illumanation.
It's probably unlikely this now happens on metis-based engines but it won't hurt to check. Testing another PSU would be the next step for shure.

Thanks for the reply. I tried using a strong light, but couldn't see anything. I will try a working PSU in the near future, as well as a polygon motor.
          Thanks again!

You have to shine the light at about a 45 degree angle otherwise you get too much surface glare. If it is the polygon motor, you have to replace both it and the BICU or what ever board drives the motor together. If you only replace the motor you run the risk of the board blowing the new motor. If it is connect to a network, try accessing WIM. If you can, you will see the error code. The first thing to start at power up is a test of the polygon. If it does not come up to speed, nothing else starts.

if you don't have another power supply or other spare parts to try, try to check the leds on the controller, disconnect and reconnect the controller, the IPU board, and the usb cable inside the plastic under the keyboard, if you're lucky, maybe it's some contact " dirty"
