    [Misc] MP6000 Stuck Fuser Drawer

Has anyone ever come across this? I couldn't find anything online...

Machine works just fine, but for some reason, when I went to pull the fuser drawer, it wouldn't budge. There is no way of pulling it out without breaking something.

I took everything I could off for a better view of the rear of the fuser drawer but for the life of me, I couldn't find anything that could cause this! Everything seems normal.

It seems to be binding somewhere in the right corner on the back, the one closest to the transfer belt.

Unscrew the front alignment pin . It should pull out after that.

In the past I have had trouble with the release mechanism for the fusing unit drawer. If you take the front cover off the fusing unit you should be to see the front latch arm and the actuating mechanism. See if you can unlatch it.

Looking at paper exit section 1 of the parts catalog, you can see all the parts of the latch mechanism.

Well said Slimslob. I was thinking the same thing.

              Hi guys,

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet but the last couple of days the place has been a madhouse and I haven't had the time to take a look at it.

If all goes to plan, I will have more news on Monday.

Right on the money! The plastic on the top of the fuser (the one with the yellow warning sticker) had been over instead of under the metal tab on the front of the fuser, causing the alignment pins to be jamming against it.

For future reference, removing the plastic cover that is held in with two screws just above the fuser will reveal the screw holding the alignment pins in place.
