Not my regular brand. Can't access manual. Multiple pages in adf, will pull two through then needs constant prompting to get the rest to feed & print. Says unfinished jobs remaining. Information is sparse for looking up this message. From what I can gather, it's either a sensor or software problem. I cleaned out the sensors and cleared memory which didn't change anything. Not sure how to check it further.
It also says 'cannot connect to dhcp server (101)'. Status page says it's on. In the interface settings through the panel, only the i/o buffer and timeout selections show. In the web page, I can see the settings listed, but they can't be changed. Unless there is some secret I don't know about. I figured out how to login, but it only takes me to a page about user names and passwords. So I would be appreciative if anyone has some insight to these problems.

Are you trying to scan, fax or copy?

This is primarily copying. It's not networked or using fax, but I imagine it would do the same thing if it were.

If it's not networked, how are you able to get to the webpage? I remember back with some of the earlier Ricoh machines seeing the DHCP error: I want to say that the machine is set to pull some information from DHCP even though it has a static IP. Often, just a reboot would clear it on some of the older machines like the 5627 or LD035. I used to put MP 161's out in the field and then not see them again for another two or three years when they hit the PCU cycle, and many of them had never been turned off in all that time. You may want to try the old capacitor flush of powering off the unit, unplugging it, and turning on the power switch for about 60 seconds to bleed out any power left in the capacitors and then turning it off, plugging back in and powering on. Could just be garbage stuck in memory as that model is getting a little old now.

Even if it is not currently being used for fax, it may have been in the past. As such it may have saved jobs in the fax file memory. If there is Fax SP mode, enter it and run FAX SP 5102-001 Erase all files to clear the ADF memory.

enter a static ip address or connect it to the lan network to avoid the message appearing. Once configured on the network from the web enter with login using '' admin '' and leaving the password blank.

Thank you for suggestions so far. It had an error ip address and I was able to use it getting to the web page with my laptop. Still can't access the dhcp settings with laptop or control panel. Any ideas about the unfinished jobs remaining error ? I read it could be a sensor in the adf. Do you know if any of these parts are still available or worth hunting down ?

The only setting there is for "DHCP' is whether the IP address is auto detected or a manually set fixed IP address. When auto detected is selected, the 161 will search for a DHCP server on your network after it is power cycled.

You could restore all memory but first look for the birth certificate datasheet to be able to rewrite them.

What type of unfinished jobs are they; Copy jobs, printing function jobs, fax functions or scanning jobs? The procedure for clearing them depends on the type of jobs and the job priority setting. Example, if there is an incoming fax job that cannot print because the selected paper size is not available, no other jobs from other functions will be able to print.

Copies. It comes up on a multiple page job. You have to keep prompting it to finish.

What do you mean when you say "you have to keep prompting it to finish"? Be specific, it's telling you what it needs.

You have to keep pressing 'start' to finish scanning the stack so they all print out. In case it's a sensor, we were exploring whether to order all the sensors and clutch involved, or just order the whole feeder assy.

I would say replace the original set sensor and/or the ADF cover sensor. Both are the same part number.
