Yepp, that's typically something a customer would say (my other printers works fine..blahblah^^) - different print engines can show different symptomes/problems. And even within one building the climate can differ. I have a customer with some MFPs and one is placed near the main entrance, guess wich one generates the most calls?^^

      Ahm... Yes, I know.

Could it be the gate of the bridge controlled by a magnet that barely touches the edge of the sheet, with A4R the same happens?

After testing yesterday, for 2 hours, the fold is caused between the Bridge Unit and the Exit Unit, only in works on 2 sides (duplex), at no time on one side.

Sounds like the auxiliary guides for the machine exit were not properly installed before the bridge unit was installed. They are needed to prevent the corners of the paper from curling down and catching on the entrance to the bridge unit. See the bridge installation in the service manual. If they are missing, you will need the Bridge Unit Parts Catalog for a part number.

As for only when doing 2 sided, remember all paper has a natural curve. Turning the paper over in the paper tray might result in it happening only on single sided.

If that were the case, the corners would be curled up instead of down. The gate pawl is above the paper path when going to the area in the picture.

As the client I have a few meters from the workshop, I went through again, because I weighed the same thing, if you refer to these auxiliary guides, take advantage of the one of another model (MP 5000), because it seemed strange that the MP 5002 did not carry it.

On the other hand, since I had time to invest in the client, I dismantled the entire Bridge Unit and cleaned in the least accessible area, which I could not review on other visits.

At the moment it seems that the "dog ears" have disappeared.

I saw this discussion late! ... I was about to answer you, but in the end I saw that you got there on your own, those guides, if they are missing, there is just that defect

That seems, but the machine was working without those little guides for quite some time. Even so, it will be something that I will take into account in future situations.
And I will never forget the nickname "Dog Ears" xD ha ha ha!!!!

Years ago I mounted the finisher kit on an mp4000 that didn't have it, and after a while, he made that joke, my boss told me "did you put the two pieces of plastic on the paper output?"... in fact I had not put them..... I think it does, when it gets into temperature
