    [Dead] mpc305 no link ethernet

    Hello forum

I have bought a second hand mpc305 and I have had the failure of not checking the network card.

When I get home and try everything I find that the network card does not respond to ping and I see these flashes on the eth port.

I remember in my technical days I solved this problem by changing only the nvram.

Can anyone offer me a test that I can do before replacing a part? Any usb-eth usb-wifi adapter ?

    thank you in advance

Are you on the same subnet?

I have just solved the problem. I'm not sure if this is the solution but here are the steps.

I went to admin tools and set network security to 0. I ping but it doesn't answer.
I went to admin tools and did a memory wipe. It has been able to boot with dhcp and now responds to ping.

        Can I buy you a beer ?

As a test set the MP C305 to DHCP then plug directly into your router see if it pulls an address?

Also check that this setting is set to inactive. (This screen shot is from a C307 but your C305 has the same setting)

            Yep, thanks for your reply.

            Problem has been solved.

Now I am having problems with smb, doing telnet I see that it goes through port 139 so I will have to update the firmware.

I have to contact former colleagues to make it easier for me.

Yes update the firmware that will give you the required SMB v2.0 option

We can supply the firmware should you need it.
