Problem with Ricoh MPC3004 touch panel

    Dear Friends,

I have an unusual problem with some Ricoh MPC3004:
when I open front cover I’m not able to see in the touch panel image of open front cover. The same when I open lateral door. I try to change touch panel with other one working and in this case it works perfectly so the problem is in the touch panel. The problem is that I have more than 10 machines with this issue. I really don’t know how to fix it: I try to install firmwares and change some settings but nothing solve this issue. It’s strange also that I put Italian language but some writings remain in English.

    Thanks for helping

It look to me like you are opening covers/doors while the panel is on a function screen and it therefore is displaying the Door Open warning. If the machines were in a jam condition or Out of Toner condition, it would probably be displaying the quick guide for clearing the jam or replacing the toner. Try returning the panel to the home screen before opening cover/doors.

Try updating the SOP Cheetah firmware separately.

update the firmware of the mf, and in particular go in panel menu, and put "panel start-up mode" from quick to normal, and try to load a latest version of os panel system firmware.... following ricoh procedure......if you are lucky work with firmware update tools, but i prefeer a traditional mode

I think these buggy image is part of the legacy firmware wich ist "hosted" in the controller board, that's why swapping the panel won't change anything. Try the latest package FW or run the update tool, guess it should be fine afterwards.

From the service program check the op panel configuration, it is usually changed between SOP (1) and NOP (0)
SP5-748-201 (smart operation panel connect setting) from 1 to 0
