Scan to folder - ubuntu vs mpc 2051

Hi guy, I'm struggling with the scan configuration, between an ubuntu laptop and the mpc2051, it just doesn't work, (see errors in the attachments)does anyone have any ideas
    below what has been done
    -mpc2051 with latest firmware available
    -folder sharing on pc
    -inserted folder in "sambashare" group
    -modified via telnet "Auth> 1"
on my linux mint it worked right away, (for i only tried on mpc6003), do you have any ideas? the doubt that the mpc2051 is not compatible is selling me (?) it seems strange to me (?)
the samba version installed on ubuntu, it looks like 4.15.5 (can it be?) is it backwards compatible with samba 1, and 2?
I have attached two pictures of the screenshots, one is the samba version, and the other is the error log of the mpc2051 which says "access denied"

but porca puttana bastarda, I can no longer upload photos in the post!

MP C2051 might be too old for there to be firmware update to support SMBv2/v3. The latest list of supported models that I have access to is dated October 2018 and does not list the C2051. If someone has the current list maybe they can post it.

As far as I've seen no machine in the xxx1 range were updated for SMB 2/3 support. Other than the MP 171, the only production firmware I've seen for modern SMB support have been on the xxx2 series and up.

On the Ubuntu machine, try adding this in the global section of /etc/samba/smb.conf

      min protocol = smb1

      Then restart samba

Newer versions of Samba default to SMB2 as their minimum version. Even in the *nix world, SMB1 is pretty much dead and buried.

FTP should work if the machines is the issue. Or see if you can tune Ubuntu to use SMBv1.
        Whatever

That's correct. This changes Samba to allow it to use SMB 1 when negotiating a connection. Make sure your customer knows that this should really be an intermediate step with the long-term solution being the upgrade of the MFP to something that supports a modern version of SMB. While enabling the protocol in Samba doesn't necessarily grant the same risks as enabling it in Windows, it does increase the potential risk for an exploit in Samba that relies on downgrading connections or some other vulnerability.

The latest firmware supports SMB 2/3.

              From the firmware history doc:

              Newly added SMBv2/v3 support.
              NOTE:
This firmware is dependent on the following firmware modules. Please be sure to update all of them:
              System/Copy v2.10 (D1055730Q) Network Support v10.64 (D1055745J) Web Support v1.02 (D1055740C) Scanner v01.08 (D1055739D)
Please refer to the TSB D104-D106 - 016 SMBv2/v3 Support for details.

                    Hi...

In wim, or use tools, i can selct the Port 139 or 445, this its the sign that smb2 are avaliable...right?

I think, that the exabotage of forcing the samba 1, through some command could be work, tomorrow i try.

UPDATE: this morning, for scruple, i have checked the firmware txt file, and confirm that the mpc 2051 have complete smb v2/v3 support with the last firmware.
therefore, I have to focus on the operating system to get the scans to workโ€‹

Just a quick idea. Ubuntu has firewall settings automatically I believe and Mint being a light OS maybe doesn't. That may be why it works for you and not for him. Check Ubuntu firewall settings also.

In the past I have also had to hardcode the port and smb version through telnet to get things working. Don't know if it is true or not, but have been told that Ricoh products always start the handshake with SMB1 to begin with and some computers shut down handshake at that point. Hardcoding through telnet makes copier start at SMB2. Least that is what I have been told.

in fact, as a company we usually do as you say, but I'm doing this outside of working hours (for free) I do it because I'm interested in knowing and being able to run scans on linux ubuntu, I don't earn anything economically, I do it for fun
