Look at the label on the old HDD. It should be the original manufacturer's label. Parts catalog indicates a Western Digital WD3200BUCT 320GB drive. Here is the spec sheet. Western Digital WD3200BUCT - HDD FAQs

You do not need to order from Ricoh. We use HDDs from various sources all the time. Just make sure it is the correct physical size and connector format, and of comparable capacity. Any reputable manufacturer will be okay (we mostly use WD or Toshiba.) Once installed, format it and you're ready to go. I'm sure you will find something that can save you money too.

Ricoh is very good about not needing the exact (or almost exact) replacement HDD.

As long as the basic specs are met, most quality drives will work.

That is definitely NOT the case with some other brands, who will remain nameless.

I can think of a few Ricoh that did. Factory formatted 2 disk sets that had to be replaced as a set.

True. I would not bother attempting to replace a RAID array with any other than Ricoh OEM. You would just be asking for headaches.

As others have said you can use pretty much any drive.

I had a nearly new METIS C1 a few years ago, the standard 320GB HDD failed, I had an old 120GB in the car, had nothing to loose so fitted that, machine prompted to format the drive which I did, after the format machine worked fine so I left it installed.

We have in some devices, we have installed SSD drives, and at the moment they do not show problems. Did you do all the steps for installation on the machine?
