    MP6002 on/off timer question

I have a question. Has anyone been able to set a daily timer on a Ricoh MP6002 to turn on say a time and off at another time. All of my MP6002 machines are up to date on firmware but my machines never shut off they only go into energy saver mode. My MP6503 machines all shut off but not the 6002. The manual is pretty generic on the topic, am I missing something. I would like the tray heaters to turn on at night in my schools but that isn't happening. Thanks for your time.

Is the tray heater plugged in at the back of the machine at CN104? Tray heater is not plugged in from the factory.

Yes both connectors that come unplugged from factory are plugged in.

It should be is User Tools - System Settings - Timer Settings - Weekly timer. It is right below the Auto Logout Timer. That should allow you to set on and off times for each day of the week. It is an operator setting so is not covered in the service manual'

As for tray heaters, there is also a connector on the back wall of the paper tray cavity for each tray heater and on the back frame below the transfer belt unit for the drum heater. I have encountered new machines where those were not connected.

Agreed with Slimslob. I've seen this setting on the 7502 series. User interface is the same.

            Re: MP6002 on/off timer question

After contacting Ricoh for further review, their engineer said that the MP6002 series on back are not able to power off with a timer. The MP6503 and IM 7000 and going forward can. There also is an extra plug by the power supply on the 6503 that if you plug it in the tray heaters stay on all the time. It sucks that I have to tell certain customers they have to shut off their copiers at night in order for the heaters to work. Hope this cleared up any confusion.

on martini 02, it is better to leave the heaters on, to avoid going against the famous problem of image distortions, especially on the first prints in the morning, as they say, you would shoot yourself in the foot, always leave it on the machine and the Heater, they are made on purpose!
