Re: RICOH MPC 307
Have you tried printing configuration page and see the behaviour of it? If it is the same, then must be from the printer. Maybe an SP mode or a Bit Switch.Aye! Cut the crapComment

Re: RICOH MPC 307
The solution is that after installing the driver you need to go to
Control Panel > Printer Properties (right click on your device) > Advance Tab > Printing Defaults > Detailed Settings Tab > Edit (From Menu) > 2 Sided (select Off from drop-down choices) > Apply > OK
and you are good to go.Comment

Re: RICOH MPC 307
A little late to the dance, but I've found that sometimes you need to turn off duplex in BOTH printing defaults and printing preferences on the print driver. The other thing is sometimes an app will over ride the print driver. I believe Adobe Reader is one that does.I've proved mathematics wrong. 1 + 1 doesn't always equal 2.........

Re: RICOH MPC 307
Just wondering if the original poster has found the solution to this because it sounds like I may have run across the same situation with an MP C3004, so I'm withdrawing my earlier "Strong stance" that it MUST be a driver issue
Full disclosure, I was just contacted by a colleague who sold this machine recently, but does not do Service or IT (long story, that I won't waste time on).
Apparently the machine is printing double-sided all the time regardless of the setting just as described at the start of this thread.
We went through all of the usual things over the phone, and then he mentioned that they have a MAC that does the same thing, which sort of changed everything in my mind, and indicated that it probably is something a little unusual in the machine settings
I'm planning on visiting the site with him early next week, and just thought I'd reach out for some further input if anyone had any.
I feel that if there's nothing obvious once I get there, I'll go about do a memory reset on all the printer related itemsComment

Re: RICOH MPC 307
I thought I'd at least update my findings, since the original poster has gone MIA.....what a surprise!
I've resolved the situation for my colleague, and it was pretty simple...although I learned some things to save in my 'Data bank'.
As I expected, the driver had just been auto installed with Windows, and while WSD had been disabled by the previous owner (I assume), it was installed using the IPP port - which is another port that I don't fully understand, but I just know that it's damn awful when a (Ricoh) device is installed on it.
I always use the full PCL6 driver package on the TCP/IP port when I setup my systems, and it would seem that when that's done, it will override many settings on the machine, so the issue was resolved
It seems that no matter what you do when the printer is installed on the IPP port (and possibly the WSD port) some machines settings settings will take precedence of the the driver properties.
So, it was after I straightened out their half dozen or so laptops, that I went to the MAC and saw that it was doing thew same thing and that's when I disabled Duplexing in the printer settings on the machine and it was sorted out
Props to Tonerhead for that tip!👍 1Comment
