Pro c5100s Enable Fiery-No Bit Change

Can't get 5193 to 1 for EFI and 5895 to 0 for disable. I've changed them and they keep resorting back. I was told this unit had a Fiery but was removed because client had one already.

If it was completely removed then the Giga bit ether net card required for the C5100 to connect to the Fiery controller has probably been removed as well.If it cannot see that there is an external controller, you cannot enable one. With no external controller enabled , you cannot disable the GW controller functions.

I installed the gigabit card from the client. The unit recognized it being installed because had to remove so they could use the nic for printing until I can figure it out. At some point had an efi install manual but it's disappeared.
Do I need to install the gig and define the interface settings before making the changes in sps?

E-22B Service.pdf Here's the E-22B Service manual, has the install section in it.

Thank you. I should have provided that it is the E-42B. I have found the installation manual and followed all the instructions but it still won't allow me to change the bit switches. Nor is it giving me the Fiery icon on the screen.

The Giga bit card and the Giga bit port on the Fiery should be factory configured to talk to each other. You only need to configure the standard network port on each for your network. Many will also leave the scanning set to use the internal GW controller. Less complications.

The fiery and gig card look to be communicating, getting the dreaded "check printer power..." Ricoh manual says to disable the nic card and change the external controller setting, which the unit is not allowing me to do. EFI install only says to change 5895-002 which again it won't change. Had to go to another location so walked away from it for today. There's got to be something I'm missing and when I find it I'm going to kick myself for not realizing it sooner.
