    Ricoh 1035

After setting the developer on this copier I notice that the SP 2220 setting is the same as the SP 2802 setting. I also know that raising or lowering the SP 2802 setting will either add more or less toner as needed. My question is what controls the SP 2220 setting. The setting fluctuates which I believe is suppose to yet if it fluctuates too much then I believe causes over toning or under toning. Would it be the sensor in the developing unit? Thanks for any help!!!

when replacing the dev and then running the td sensor setup the result must be 4.0v. this is predetermined by the amount of dev(carrier)mixed with toner by the manufacturer which is a constant.
The values change as the dev ages and wears, the drum surface becomes less receptive and the charge roller becomes depleted. Other factors can be the laser power not to spec, humidity, not using oem toner, poor servicing regime etc

The manual says that you can use this SP when you want to replace a development unit with another one that already contains toner. You must enter the correct Vref for this unit in SP2220.
You can use this SP for testing purposes.

sp2220 is the MANUAL vref setting which you should not use unless you have a faulty ID or TD sensor. It is set at a default and is controlled by the technician. Also as previously mentioned if you swap the dev units around from machine to machine you must match up this value.sp2801 performs the initial td value setting and this should be done only with new machine, new dev, after transporting/moving machine or if you replace the td sensor. This value should be in or around 4.0v.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
