Re: Ricoh 2004 - Problems - Loading Toner
So although I am late to this one, I will add a few items for those who have not had the pleasure of experiencing this first hand themselves.
If you have a PCDU with a packed dev unit (toner up to the top of the hole), you will need to replace it in most cases.
Replace the hopper.
Make sure you get in with a vac and clean out the tube that goes from the hopper to where it goes into the dev unit. That tube can become packed and toner is still stuck in there after you put in new everything else and you will be back for the same issue.
After doing all this, put it all back together and pray it works.
Something else. These do not endure going a lot over their rated volume without a lot of issues. We had a 2004 in a pharmacy getting the snot run out of it and apparently, the drive is an issue with these. We worked with Ricoh engineering and they looked over the data we sent to them and they said the drive was bad. Replacing it looked a lot worse than it actually was. Drives typically don't go out on these, but I suspect that is an issue with a number of them and the ones I have had the most issues with are the ones that are way over volume. Ricoh will never put it in writing that you can't do that with these machines, but just be aware of it.Comment

what i don't understand why that blue bands. The problem was with the black toner.
Can I try to reinitialize the pcdu in spmode? I noticed that inside the pdcu, in its final hole, there is a large amount of toner, as if it were all full, but the pcdu is brand new, less than a month old. If the pump is broken, no toner should even reach the PDCU"I'll be back"Comment
