    Fuser 3002

Hi, anyone know if the fuser unit of a MP C4502 works in a MP C3002? Or if there is a way to modify it to work on it?

It works, I think you must swap or modify the bottom cover. Not shure if you need to modify the connector pin assignments.
Fuser lamp wattage is higher but this does not have any negative effects.

Looking at the parts catalog, it appears the only differences are the lower cover and the fusing sleeve. Having done many PM rebuilds on the 02s, the leads for the thermistors are attached to the lower cover.

The higher wattage sleeve might result in warmup service codes as it may actually warmup too fast.

SC540, fusing motor lock error. Modified fusing unit might be binding and putting too much load on the motor.

          SC542, Warm up error.
