[CQ] Ricoh MP C6004ex Different shades and blocks on prints

    Hey Guys,

I'm getting an issue at a Real Estate Agents on a Ricoh MP C6004ex running the latest firmware, the latest model specific PoscScriipt driver and a PostScript card (version 1.05).

The agents create documents and then convert them to PDF using a decent and piad for marketing software package.

Around the logo of the company name and around the agents picture I am getting a block of colour that does not match the rest of the background.
It also happens on the PCL6 driver but the Postscript one produces the correct colour overall.

so yeah like 2 different shades of cyan/blue, Ive tried so many different options within the print driver but i just can not get the document to print without these blocks of colour. I have tried multiple of their documents too with the same issues.

If you have a sample that you can post, that would be helpful. Not sure what application you are printing out of either. I know in Acrobat Reader there is an option to "Print As Image" under the Advanced Print Setup menu. This has fixed some of my customer's issues in the past. Another option would be to save the file to an SD Card / USB stick and print it directly from the machine, bypassing the driver and application. If it follows with the file, then it's likely an issue in the PDF conversion.

That's usually issues with layers and transparencies on the document not being processed properly, has the software they use have a flattening option like Adobe? Have you tried printing to PDF and then print the PDF file?

Unfortunately,, PDF creation has become a "me too" business. where everyone has their own take on what they think is the correct method.

have you taken the image to another printer to see the quality? i would almost bet the issue is in how the image was edited. usually someone downloads it from online. it looks fine on the monitor and they print. but if you open the image and zoom in. you can then sometimes see the pixals of the image aren't great. the quality isn't as good as what it looks like. you might wanna look for one of those programs that shows the hexadecimal of the pixal colors. to compare the 2 different cyan that you mentioned.
