Re: IM C4500 Sporadic fixation failure
Still the problem did not go away. We re-installed the old fuser with increased pressure but this did not do the trick.
Luckily I brought a box of my own paper and swapped it and voila - so far, so good.
While completing the work I discovered an interesting setting and disabled "fuser off" mode in admin/timer settings.
By defult the machine turns off the fuser completely so messing around with pre-heat/standby temps won't change a thing.
After turning off the problem also was not reproduceable with the customers paper. Not 100% shure this is the fix
but I have a good feeling in my gut.Comment

We had the same issue a few days ago, I went out to the customer and met my tech who already had raised the temps and swapped a new fuser.

I miss the Metal Roller fusers, with those systems this nonsense didn't happen so much.

I will try changing the Pressure Roller, because of the suspicions I have, I will raise the temperature a few degrees more, I think 2 or 3 degrees more will be enough, along with deactivating the "Fuser Shutdown System", and see how it responds.
What pisses me off is that of all the visits, only 1 time did he fail me, so the client has the strange feeling that "I'm not doing my job well", but hey, (sorry for the off topic)..."ALL WILL BE WELL" The battle cry that most inspires me to follow, from the DC's Comic character that I admire the most. And I feel satisfied with being better every day, and with using Gnu-Linux as my usual Operating System.Apologies for my English, it's not my mother tongue and I'm helping the translator.Comment

Re: IM C4500 Sporadic fixation failure
Yeah I feel you, it's not great to have multiple visits. Like I said in my case even an entire new fuser did not prevent toner offset on the first 1 or 2 pages of the job and using the middle thick temps for plain 1 + 2, that's why I have decided to re-install the old fuser. I took my time and talked a lot to the customer and I think he would agree to swap the paper in the future - he already got 2500 sheets for free from me
Still I think there's a good chance he can keep running his paper with this different fuser energy mode setting.Comment

Re: IM C4500 Sporadic fixation failure
Interesting x2.
In Spain, or at least that is how it is stated in our company, the issue of guarantees goes differently, and it changes especially with the new European regulation (or that is what has been said here https://cec.consumo.gob.es/CEC/comun...ntias_2022.htm[in spanish, sorry]), all articles must have 3 years minimum warranty nationwide along with an increase in the availability of parts supply for repair/replacement from 5 to 10 years.
Regarding the Guarantees bulletin between Ricoh Spain (National Delegation) and its Authorized Distributors, I will consult it, since it is an agreement between the Management of the Company and the Commercial Delegate of Ricoh Spain, so I do not know if said document can be shared or obtained. .
I don't know if this team would be better to treat it in a New Post, to treat it more carefully and not divert the subject too much.
Does it seem good to you?Comment

Re: IM C4500 Sporadic fixation failure
After 6 months, I can confirm that the adjustments made and the changes have been SATISFACTORY.
Therefore, it is advisable to raise the temperature with respect to the base, by 6 or 7 degrees Celsius, which requires replacing the Pressure Roller and adjusting the springs that give tension to the aforementioned roller.
Thank you all very much for your collaboration.
On the last visit (a few days ago) a fixation failure was replicated, but the paper showed clear and unmistakable signs of humidity."ALL WILL BE WELL" The battle cry that most inspires me to follow, from the DC's Comic character that I admire the most.
