There seems to be toner all over the place on the interior of this area where the toner assembly sits. I am planning on buying a toner vacuum to clean this all up.

Initially I was pleased to read that the part I needed to replace was only like $15 however the toner assembly is aout $150. I suppose it is what it is. I hope that by installing an entirely new toner assembly is the right decision.

As far as the mess inside, I believe once the slider chuck cracked, the toner bottle moved out of position and began leaking toner everywhere. I need to vacuum out all that toner before attempting to print again.

I am guessing "harvested" means it was pulled out from another machine and perhaps cleaned/refurbished. I believe it will be sufficient.

When I lived back in chicago 2 years ago I used to have a technician come out once a month to inspect/clean the machine, but since I moved to Florida about 2 years ago, I have fallen upon financial hardships and cannot afford a maintenance plan by a printer servicing company. I have to attempt to fix things myself. I am not a complete dummy and have managed to keep the machine running well over the past 2 years. It is very old and the counter is about 550,000 pages.

Up until the moment I opened the front panel and the chuck fell out, it was printing just fine. Even with all that toner leakage by the toner assembly, it was still printing clean pages.

Unfortunately I have to learn to clean it out on my own.

When I lived back in Chicago and I had the technician come out monthly for maintenance, I would always carefully observe him working on the machine, and would always ask him lots of questions in hopes of learning how to do what he does on my own, so that I can eventually learn to maintain it myself.

I cannot afford a new machine and have no choice but to use this one until the "wheels fall off".
at this point, I understood that the part is used, you might as well, instead of spending 99, buy the new one for 150, that is a part that wears out heavily, better put new one.

Since I saw that you are a willing guy, now I'm at home, but tomorrow I'll send you the service manual, and the part catalog, so you can have fun learning how to disassemble, and keep in perfect efficiency your MP2352.

the machine is a disaster...has it been at war with the toner?....how many prints does it have? look at the counter, has the drum ever been changed some time? (that thing on the right)... because if that too is gone, then the whole reasoning changes.

i dont know what mean "harvested"

a toner vacuum cleaner can cost from 400-500 euros upwards, if you don't use it every day it's not sustainable

That machine is also using a supply item PCU, which can also cause issues unless a tech knew to do the develop initialisation on installing.

also check that the small door on the PCDU, which opens when you insert the toner revolver into the machine opens correctly, to reveal the toner inlet into the PCDU. If it is deformed, remove it, it works even without it, and also check that the gears of the pcdu development group are not worn , that they run correctly without jerks.

In truth you may need to replace the entire. The only time I have seen 7 break like that only once when the extension that 3 slides on was cracked on both sides causing to be pulled downward to lock the tray in place.

oh god I just realized you are correct. I didn't realize that part #7, the "chuck bottle", pulls out of the slider, and upon pulling it out of the slider I noticed that is the only part that is cracked. Hopefully it's not too late to cancel my order. Fortunately the same website I ordered the slider from also has that "chuck bottle" part.

Thank you for your input it saved me a lot of trouble.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here we go.

My printer ran out of toner today and as I opened the front panel to replace the toner cartridge a small piece of plastic fell to the ground.

Upon inspection it was obvious which part had cracked. I will add pictures for reference.

I called Ricoh Service and they said they do not service this model any longer, so unless I can find a technician in the Miami area I may have to try to replace this part myself.

I have been inspecting the slider assembly and am unsure how to disassemble it.

But first I need to figure out exactly which part (the name of) is the one I need to order. If I can figure out how to take apart the slider assembly, the area where this part fell out of, I am sure I can fix this myself.

I have found this website in order to figure out the exact name and part number of the part that has broken.

    Parts Catalog > Ricoh > MP2352SP > page 14

Since the part inside the slider assembly is cracked, and the part that fell out is also cracked, I believe there are 2 parts I need to replace. I am unsure. The part inside the slider assembly is the one that pushes out. One of the pictures I took, as you can see, is me using one finger to push that piece out, so it sticks out, and you can see where it cracked off more clearly.

I belive the part that fell out, the part that has the little screw in it is the "shaft chuck".

And I believe it is the "slider assembly", which is where the "shaft chuck" craked and fell out of.

Also I hope the pictures are clear enough. I always have trouble uploading pictures to this forum, because it forces me to resize the pictures to 620x280.

    Thank you for your input!
