    Ricoh Aficio 200

I just took over servicing this copier it's actually a Lanier version 5020. I've replaced the fuser rollers and picker fingers as well as the drum unit and transfer roller. Customer has called and said they are experiencing a problem they had before I started servicing which is the paper stopping in the fuser unit when the copier is being used alot. Paper is hanging up on something and being made into fans. Also having a copy quality issue with copies being too light. My understanding when installing the new drum unit is there are nothing that needs to be performed just install the unti. Have not been to the copier yet so not sure if I need to go into SP mode and adjust or if copies are running undertoned. I do know after completing initial service copies were very good. Suggestions please???
    Thanks!!!

There are no settings to adjust after replacing the pcu, and the fanning paper-I'd be looking at the fuser stripper claws

Bad drum ground has caused light copies in this machine.Check fuser drive and make sure it is turning and not starting to skip.

For the fuser jamming, you are running a dry fuser (no oil web, etc) and it sounds hot from the use, so the copies are sticking to the hot roller more.

I would make sure you have good airflow (check the exhaust fan) and also take a look at what they are trying to copy. If it has a lot of black on the lead edge, that is going to be an issue. One thing you can do is crank up the lead edge erase more to give a bigger white strip as a lead edge and give the stripper fingers a chance to get the paper started off the hot roller. If it does that, you got a good chance to get it through without a jam.

Gears are a good call as well, although with it making fans, I don't know that it is an issue this time around.

Some other things I did with machine models that ran hot like that was to make sure the temp sensor(s) were clean and also turn down the fuser temp a bit.

The interior of the hot roll gear may be rounded enough to stop the hot roller when the paper hits the nip

AS THERE IS NO WEB OR OIL ROLLER IN THIS MODEL IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE A GOOD PRESSURE ROLLER AS THEY ARE IMPREGNATED WITH OIL. t-A DRY PRESSUE ROLLER COULD CERTAINLY CAUSE JAMS.

re the light copies, if monthly volume is greater than 3k then see RTB 52. There are some changes you need to make to sp2-999 and 2-996 respectinly. It,s all in the rtb

The RTB is in the service manual under trouble shooting, you can download the service manual from Ricoh

Is the exhaust fan found on the left side of the copier??? If it is should I feel air coming out of the vent at all times??? Finally am I trying too hard to pull that left cover off??? I removed all the screws that I saw hold the cover yet can't seem to get it off and is this the best way to get to the fan??? How do I access the SP code 5804 to check the operation of the fan??? I can get to 5804 yet not sure what to do after getting there. Don't have a service manual for this copier and have misplaced my multi guide book that contains info on this copier.
                        THANKS!!!
