    blurred copies Ricoh mp501

    Hello
I hope you can give me a clue about this problem
for some time now a computer has been making out-of-focus copies and prints only on cold mornings.

I have observed condensation on the fusing unit and on the drum when this fault occurs.

the drum and the fusing unit have been replaced and the problem continues.
also upgraded the firmware of the machine and updated the panel operating system.

tests were performed with different cards such as power supply, controller and main board.

I hope you can help me with any suggestions or comments

Condensation is the problem. Moisture build up on the drum and absorbed by the paper. Unless there is a drum heater option is available in your area, my documentation says Asia only, you need to lower the ambient humidity to below 70% during operation and at least an hour before operation. Paper needs to be stored overnight in a moisture proof container.

Well that kinda sucks. Too bad we can't get that here in North America.

In the image you send you can see some lines that, being far away, I think they have the diameter of the magnetic roller,
disassemble the developing unit, throw away that toner, clean and dry the magnetic and put new toner...

Years ago on a Panasonic DP 4530 they had urinated in the toner jar and it came out like this.

I also saw it in Choco, the place where it rains the most in the world, the paper was wet from being left outdoors.
There they keep the paper in a drawer with a plug to keep it dry.

I've got to admit, in my 39 years on the job, I had not heard of that one before.

Humidity condensation on the drum which has been exposed to humidity overnight.
It usually happens where there is not a well ventillated room.
I use to polish the drum and properly dust it with powder.
            No reason to replace anything!!
We still suffer from this effect mainly on Martini series : MP 2075, 7500, 6001,8001 !

This problem usualy occurs when there is no enough developer. Replace the developer with new one.

I believe some, if not all, of those have the heaters built in, you just have to plug them in at the back of the machine.

remove the energy saving mode, leave it always on fuser=active, at least for this cold period, then when it gets hotter you re-enable it, save energy with active fuser with printing

We have exact the same problem with the Martini series, now for almost 5 Years (since the TYPE MP9002 toner appears) , tried everything possible to solve the issue, but nothing helped really.
Polishing drum gives you more time till the next moisture problem, but didnt solve the issue. We have customers with 5 machines each, and all five some mornings make the same problem, even if powersaving is off and the machine is in stand by mode the whole night. (totally more then 150 Martini machines with exact the same problem randomly, we have to hire someone only to polish drums )
in my opinion now the problem expands on the MP 501 too.

Have you plugged in the heaters shown at the bottom of this page?
