That is a physical circuit board, not firmware or software.

In my 25+ years of working with Ricoh products, I think I have seen about 3 of them.
I have never had to use it, other than on wide format printers.

Scan FTP is the easiest thing and works almost all the time. Saved my life dozens times when SMB and/or email don't work.
On the old MP C3300 it is perfect. FTP is an old and simple solution. No secure, but to simply push a scan document on a local network, it's not a problem.

You just need to download the Filezilla Server 0.9.60.2 and install it on the computer you want the scans to be stored.

Then you create a user (named 'scan' and password 'scan'), you create the home folder for this user in the scan folder (for example c:\scan), you don't forget to set the writing right to the user scan.

You just have to set up the computer's firewall to allow data from the program 'filezilla server'.

Then, in the copier's address book, you set a scan-folder on ftp mode, with the computer's IP address, with the username 'scan' and same password. You send a document for testing. If it works, you will see information apperaing on the filezilla server's log window.

Then you just have to set the server's option, in 'miscellaneous' you click on 'start minimized' in order to have the user not disturbed by the Filezilla server program popping up while starting Windows and this is all.

(it needs the IP address of the computer to be static, of course. Think about setting the DHCP server and set the computer's IP address on a fix value).

And just like SMB1, never install it on a client network without their express permission and make sure they know there is no security whatsoever.

The last thing you want is a client in a regulated industry getting flagged for data not being encrypted in transit or having their security find it in a port scan.

user for copier is set up as admin (local user)
          Folder shared properly
          SMB enabled in windows settings
File and Print sharing set up correctly (I think)
File and printer sharing in defender enabled for ALL options both in and out
Turned off Malware bytes to test

Error in log is "SMBC: failed to connect (03201:0x2100002"
I have gone through about everything I know to make this work. Is there anyone out there still using these older machines that make them work reliably?

          Thanks!

I havent 3300 in turn, but anyway....
I checked the various txt files contained in the latest firmware of that model, and from what it says, "it would seem" that at least Samba v2.x can handle it, so try updating the firmware, and then try this:

1- delete and recreate the folder and share (sometimes it gets ruined)
2- if you have an antivirus check the firewall section (how, it depends on what antivirus you have)
3 - if you use Windows firewall (excellent) create a rule that allows access, either to the IP address of the machine, or to port 445, or type of protocol (you choose the one you prefer)

          and, let us know...

            你可以嘗試使用FTP軟體。quickeasy FTP伺服器是一個易於使用的軟體。FTP

            使用連接埠21
