Scan to Folder with Ricoh Mp C3004 on iMac

Hi, I have a problem with a Ricoh MP C3004 multifunction printer that I have on the network (via LAN cable): I can't use the scan to folder to the shared folder that I created on my iMac with Sonoma via SMB. How do I configure it to work?
    Thanks

Have you turned ON SMB file sharing? Set up SMB file sharing on Mac - Apple Support

yes, it works with image capture, I import it from the Mac, but it's inconvenient, I would like to send the scan file from the printer app to the shared folder on the Mac.

Hy if the machine bave a SOP it's like normal windows sharing, make sure to use the correct name for the mac... You can check how a windows pc sees your mac on the network. I experienced problems using the name you can seee in the settings in the mac (ex... Imac-from-Tom).
Turn on windows filesharing on IOS, and try to set the pubblic shared folder. It shoud work like a normal windows share

I have very little experience with scan to folder on MAC, and NONE for the past decade or more, but I don't think that the Cxx04 series had SMB 2/3 compatibility out of the box, and therefore would require a Firmware update to make it work with systems that require it (Ie: Windows 10/11).
I wonder if the same is true here for the MAC?
Are you able to confirm that it does scan to a folder on Windows 10/11 PC?
If so, then disregard my theory.

so image capture works. why not have it save to a specific folder, and then share that folder? if it doesn't work with what you created. create a new one, set image capture to send to that folder, and then share it. good luck

In my experience (this morning for example we configured scan2folder in 15 pc's with win 10...and 11) without any problem. If the machine have no smb 2 or 3 you can update Firmware.... Or enable smb 1 Support in windows... Either works fine...

I experienced the most problems with the MAC network name... If you check the name in the IOS settings... You'll see for example "toms Imac"... But if you check from a windows PC you see "IMAC2"... Thats often the problem... In the machine obviously you have to set as destination ://IMAC2/scanfolder
Thats true for all the SOP machines... It works like windows if you can set everything right

Pet peeve here: a Mac and a MAC are two very different things. One is a computer made by Apple, one is a component of a network card.

You'll need a tech for that.

Sadly, part of your issue may be Apple's terrible implementation of SMB which has been riddled with various issues since they introduced it around OS X 10.7 or 10.8 instead of using Samba. One issue gets fixed just for another one to come up.

Only suggestions I can make is that you'll need to make sure of the permissions on the shared folder to make sure that the account you're using on the MFP has read/write permissions to it. Modern implementations of SMB will not let you create unauthenticated shares so you need credentials.

Also, is the Mac tied to any management system that could be enforcing a policy that blocks shares from being created or accessed? If it's a company Mac it's a possibility.
