All toner in the machine is genuine Ricoh toner.

So I misread the previous comment regarding force feeding the developer and I executed a force feed of the black toner. However, I noticed that my black looks decent near the bottom of the test page but as you get towards the top, it gets worse.Comment

The ITB was replaced a few months ago and the PTR was cleaned as well. Since the issue still persists I guess that would leave the last option to replace the PTR?Comment

That looks like it could be the PTR assembly itself that's broken or one of the large tension springs inside it is out of position. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Just curious, how and why would a faulty PTR result in mottling on solids?

The grounded paper transfer roller pulls the toner off the ITB onto the paper as it passes. On the '03 series a worn PTR can give all sorts of copy quality issues. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
