I have 03 COPIERS RICOH


IM 350
IM C2000
IM C300


installed IN different customers with meters between 20,000 and 30,000


the copiers display error code SC672-20


refuse access to SERVICE MODE
refuse to update FIRMWARE

In 80% of the issues you have to replace the controller as MIKON says. In some cases it's the operation panel pcb.
If you activate ARFU during installation, this will significantly reduce the number of faults.

i hate that code and had many mpc401s with it,control panel,connector usb to brd,firmware and the controller..
the issue too is if you check service code history that code never shows up...so you cant know b4 picking up these headaches...

I have already replaced the Hard Drive.
the same problem remains.

Smart Operation Panel communicates with the controller via the USB cable [Fig.1-A] and harness
[Fig.1-B]. Have you tried replacing or at least reseating them?

Since you can't enter SP mode or update firmware they only option is to replace the controller board.

We fit used one for this code, just remember to swap over the NVram.

for me sometimes the sc 672 takes a while to pop up and you can try updating via ricoh FW CLU PROGRAM VIA IP address.
it might code out during update like it did for me but i was able to do FW updates eventually...I cant see HDD being issue and if able pull HDD and test it on a external docking bay...
