    IM C3500 vs IM C3500LT

We have received a group of off-lease IM C3500LTs which we have not seen before. Does anyone know the difference between the regular IM C3500 and the IM C3500LT? My Google skills may be lacking.

I'm not sure, but I seem to remember that the LTs are those with a different cpu/chip from the standard one, due to the "alleged microchip crisis"... if this were the case, it requires special precautions to update some romdata modules, because it has some firmware other than the basic one, there are some bulletins about it

I dont believe so, we have other IM C3500s with LCT that are listed as just IM C3500. Unless it changed mid-run, which wouldn't surprise me...

I could be wrong, but from what I remember it was due to a lack of chips a few years ago. They made the LT's around this time with different bits. I've not noticed anything different with them though - they seem identical in parts/reliability

Yes luca already mentioned that. I think the downside was that it does not have all cyber security "certifications" one might need in special circumstances. Firmware was also a little different but only certain modules. Nothing to worry if you use package firmware or ARFU updates.

They are 99% identical, slightly different security because of chip shortage.
All parts etc are the same, drivers are the same, use package firmware as 3500/LT are listed as the same on Octopus. They were sold a little cheaper because of the security thing.

hello dear ones, I went to look for the documentation I had read, and I'm putting it here for posterity, so anyone who has doubts can find out... it's in Italian, but I'm sure you'll be able to translate it very easily

p.s. but it doesn't mention any differences in security.
