How to enable collating on Ricoh MPC3004?

Hi,
I want to be able to print multiple jobs and have them collate on an MPC3004. I have gone through the settings in the admin panel but don't see anything about configuring the setting. I have also checked the printer's settings but don't see anything about collating documents. Does anyone know how I can do this?

I believe it is in the print manager on the computer.

Open Printers. open the MP C3004, click on Preferences, Go to the Detailed Settings tab. Under Menu - Job Setup click on Output. You will find the collate settings there. You can select either shift or rotate. Rotate will require that all jobs are on Letter size paper and that you have trays load with at least one tray with each orientation of letter paper, short edge feed and long edge feed.

you would think they could get on track. its as slim said for collate. but if you are on the copier it calls it sort. you would think they would stick with just one word. pick one and run with it. lol

The 2 terms have 2 different origins.

Sorting goes back to the early days of copying when feeders and finishers did not exist. Copies were made one original at a time and then hand sorted and often stapled

Collating comes from the print press industry where the need for a mechanical way to quickly put together multi-page outputs was crucial.

So which industry do you want to change their terminology?

Open a new thread instead of jumping in on a old thread. You say your a Tech and were trained on the "MPC3004" Open the manual and read setup. Or else you can call a qualified Ricoh Tech. You will need an OCR SD card.

The C3004 does not come with Scan to OCR. It is an add-on option that was very seldom sold. Even if it is installed on your C3004, it will not do what you want. It only creates embedded OCR information in the scanned document. The processor on the C3004 can take minutes per page to do the conversion as opposed to pages per minute using a PC based OCR software many of which are free,

To enable collating on the Ricoh MPC3004, you can do this directly from the print settings on your computer. When you send a print job, go to the print dialog box and select Properties or Preferences. Look for the Finishing tab, where you should find an option for Collate. Make sure to check this option before printing. If you still don't see the collate option, ensure you have the correct driver installed for the MPC3004, as some driver versions might not support this feature. Additionally, check that your print job includes multiple copies to see the collate option activated.

You forgot one very important step, make sure that the proper finisher is selected in the Accessories tab of the Printer Properties. If it is greyed out and cannot be selected, it has to be selected on the printer server first.
