    MPC2800 / 3300 fuser

    Hello folks!

Does anyone know if there is a working substitute fuser for the MPC2800 / 3300? I know the SPC811 fuser works for the MPC3500 / 4500 but is there one for these models as well?

Cheers! (Being friday night and all )
    Peace sells, but who's buying?

    Hi Mate,

Ive only come across a few of these in the field and the bad news is i dont think there is a substitute.I have had to rebuild the few i have had to replace and they are not quick to do. If you ever come across the MPC 4000/5000 you can use the fusing unit for spc820.

    cheers

Get used to rebuilding them. At least the parts are not too expensive, but it is time consuming.
Don't take that toner with me!

Oh really? That's wonderful... I've actually got a few of these in the field... maybe 5 or 6. Massive amounts you can save on parts if you look around

Guess I'll go with the rebuild, I'm not worried about the time, it's the money.

        Thanks a lot mate!

I think it won't take more time compared to the MPC2500 fuser.

Compared to the MPC3500/4500 fuser the 4000/5000 fuser is a total dream. Just a hot / press roller in those, no stupid belt or anything. I nearly had a crisis when I saw one for the first time!
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.

why not using the spc811 fuser for the mpc3500?

Because I'd be hung, drawn and quartered. I have to do things "by the book"!

I have done enough of the MPC3500 ones that it doesn't seem so bad anymore now the MP4000 I don't know if that one will ever get easy and no belt on there either.

Your service manager is an idiot then - 1 minute fit compared to 1 hour. Last time I checked it was cheaper to fit the printer fuser as well.

I know what you mean, but if you take it to your service manager / director or whoever decides at your firm, I'm sure they'd be interested in cutting costs in half? Worth a try anyways, maybe there's something in it for you? I mean, aren't all companies for lowering costs?

Maybe his service manager needs to forward that "by the book" order as well (direct tech). For us, the complete SPC fuser is cheaper than just the fuser PM kit exluding time you need for reworking the unit.

Yep, I have to do things absolutely by the book. That means replacing parts in fusers, PCU's, etc etc.

Same here. The SPC fuser is about 2/3 of the price of the PM kit, excluding time. So why bother..!
