Fuser jam with noise in aficio 1075

    Hi everybody
I have a fuser jam with noise , I check out the fuser ,there is no broken gears.
I check the fuser exit motor visually and it looks ok , but when i test the fuser exit motor using output check , the noise comes up ,

When you say that you have a jam, are you not able to get a single copy to pass through the fuser unit?

Take the front cover of the fuser off and make sure that when you are performing the output check that all of the rollers are turning. Sometimes, by putting some pressure on one of the roller ends, you can better identify which one is making noise.

Change all of the bushings and bearings in the fuser.

Bearings can and do lock up, but its more common to see flat spots on the pressure roller making the noize... At least until the Heat Roller drive gear cracks and you have less noise but a constant jam at the fuser.

Can you describe the sound? Is it more of a Parakeet on Crack or a Constipated Grizzley Bear? A rattlesnake caught in a chainsaw maybe? Keep in mind some fuser noise is normal at the start / end of a job for the pressure roller release motor (if I got my model numbers straight)

Ahhh, that just made my morning!!!

That would be funny if a customer ACTUALLY did put the phone up to a constipated bear, rather than having me try to hear a faint sound from a copier across the room that they put the phone up in the air so I can 'attempt' to hear it.

But you're supposed to be psychic, just mind meld to the machine to fix it!

check the duplex - both units driven by same belt at back - sometimes the teeth on the belt strip from age then load from both units
