    Ricoh 1224c smeared colors

This copier said needed Cyan toner, a week after customer installed cartridge, it said it again. Tech went out, had to manually feed toner so ordered new cyan developer unit and installed. Now it is smearing blue and yellow on copies, even black copies.......any ideas?

I've seen a sheet of paper stuck on top of the pcu unit just b4 the xfer belt cleaning unit, just sittin there chillin and smearin cuz it was just lightly riding/resting on the xfer belt! (kind like on the ricoh 6110 when the itb belt cleaning unit is JUST out of adjustment!)

        Regards!

... or stuck between the Image Loop and ITB. Not sure I want to know how it makes it that far.

Most quality issues on these nasty little beasts boil down to the PCU or charge Both are easy to replace and relatively cheap. Tried ordering a transfer cleaning unit once and it cost more than whole new PCU. Voids are usually a bad developer, but I have seen the fuser and transfer do it on occasion.

They're not usually hard to work on, its how often you have to do it, and how pitiful "good" copies are.
