Simple Question: SP for reseting MP7000 fuser error codes?

Hi there. I feel stupid for asking this, but I'm stumped.

Got a customer with an MP7000 giving out a SC555 error. I've tried to instruct the customer over the phone (she's 100km away) on how to reset the code, but SP5810 doesn't seem to do anything. I looked at the service manual and, sure enough, there's no mention to SP5810 on it. I have no way of going to the customer's site today and I'm quite sure this error is just a glitch (machine is brand new).

What am I missing here? Does the MP7000 use a different SP to reset fuser codes? Where on the manual can I find that (I'm used to Konica Minolta service manuals, this one is giving me an headache! )

    Thanks for any help provided!

Turn off whilst in service mode!

I think you just have to enter the service mode and then turn the machine off whilst in service mode to clear the code. If this does not fix it I pretty sure something (thermistat/stor, web, rollers) have cracked it.

Also, in addition to what the book says about SC555, it can be caused by a poor connection of the connector on the back of the fuser with the one in the machine. This can be remedied by shimming the connector on the back of the fuser.

Thanks for all your replies, guys. I got it - looks like that no manufacturer uses one truly universal method on all of its models to reset fuser codes. I shouldn't be surprised.

As for the links you gave me, I surely hope that's not the case - we're talking with a almost brand-new machine here, hasn't suffered any intervention since setup. I guess this was just a minor quirk.

          Cheers!
