    SP4100 rear cover loose

One of the guys in our shop had a service call on this little thing for a laser code. While working on that, he noted that the rear cover won't stay closed securely. He ordered a new cover that was just as loose as the old one. We looked at it together and could find nothing out of kilter.

The customer had been keeping the cover closed with massive quantities of scotch tape. We sent it back with some duct tape and promised to look into this further. Has anyone run into this problem and fixed it? It seems to me the rear cover latches are just plum too small.

This may be a really old thread but I recently had the task of completely rebuilding one of these printers and I ran into this issue with the rear cover. For anyone else who may see it, this is what I did:

-Locate the plastic latch that's not gripping the machine properly (for me it was the smaller right side latch)

-Tear off the corner of a Stretch-n-Dust or something similar

-Scotch tape it around the guilty latch. If done correctly the cover should shut with perfect solidity.
