    Mpc 4500 sc 548

I have been getting this code for the past few months and still cant get to the bottom of it.

so far i have replaced the ferrite roller and the 2 new modified sensors, firmware is upto date !.62 version. i have checked the previous posts on the website regarding this sc code. always seems so come back in after a few days when i replaced the ferrite roller it was alright for a few months until the past few days. fuser unit looks in good nick. customer does not do a high volume although the machine had already done 400k. customer also suggested that it happens only when it jams in the fuser unit.

    what can it be?

If the machine isn't sitting level, the frame can slightly twist causing that. Sometimes the customer can cause it by pulling fusing unit out and not pushing in well enough. Many times I see code on machine that was recently moved, the fuser wiggles out enough to code out.
I think that code also happens when customer ignores the fusing unit not set properly message and they open door 3 times.

For me new sensors or rebuilding the fuser with the PMB222160K has always fixed it.

Try changing the fuser drive motor, we find after 4 to 500k they start to get a bit tired and just can't keep running at the correct speed. You will find if you fit a new fuser with a fresh, firm sponge roller it needs less torque to turn it, but the moment it softens up the motor will have trouble keeping up to speed and the old problem will be back. We change these motors a matter of course when we refurb this model.

Put a complete printer fuser in it. These fusers can only be rebuild two or three times before they're completely goosed. Also change the two sensors that detect the position of the ferrite roller. They're AW02 0190.

went back today and i found that the bridge unit switch kept on operating everytime you touch the top cover of the bridge unit. so im thinking it jammed and alsorts and thats what triggered the sc code when customer started messing about with it. so what i did was i put some blutac onthe switch to hold it down and told the customer what i did incase they get a jam in the bridge unt. it was the sensor on the right hand.

Instead of changing the full harness remove the cover housing the harness connectors and on the white connector on the left there are red cables in ports 1 and 3. Remove the cable in port 1 and locate in port two and it will save you all the hassle of stripping out the full wiring loom.
